Can children join the library?
Absolutely! Everyone in the family is welcome to join the library. Children must be joined by a parent/guardian who will act as guarantor on their account until they reach eighteen years of age.
What kind of identification (ID) do I need to join the library?
You need to produce photo ID (e.g. driver’s licence or passport) and proof of address (e.g. rates or utility bill).
I’m only visiting, can I join the library?
Absolutely! Please talk to a member of staff about visitor membership.
I have moved house, how do I notify the library of my new address?
- You can update your information by logging into My Account and selecting your personal details from the menu. Alternatively, call us on 06 349 1000 or email us at info@whanganuilibrary.com
What is my password and how can I change it?
Your password will have been set when your account was created. If you have forgotten it, you can reset it following the forgotten password recovery option on the login page. Staff can also help you in branch or over the phone.
If you want to change your password, log in to My Account and select change your password from the menu.
I’ve lost my library card, how do I get a new one?
Please let us know immediately if you have lost your card as we will block it to prevent fraudulent use. Staff can replace your lost card free of charge.
Note that the new card will have a new membership number.
